Golfers…show your support for cancer research by signing up for the 2010 Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska golf tournament. This year’s tournament will be held at the Kearney Country Club in Kearney, Nebraska.
Kearney Country Club was established in 1918 with land purchased from the Saunders family. The course, called Grandview Golf Association at that time, began with 9 holes, buffalo grass fairways and sand greens. In 1944, the last 9 holes were developed and completed and a new sprinkler system was installed. By 1948, the original 9 holes sported grass greens. Its rich heritage and picturesque 18-hole course set Kearney Country Club apart. The now infamous island green, Hole #17, was completed in 2004 and is the only one in the state. In fact, more than half of the course is currently surrounded by Kearney Lake and the Kearney canal. In addition to the course’s scenic views, the Club offers one practice green, a full driving range, ample cart storage, and several other amenities. Full size trees and a lake make this a beautiful (and challenging) course to play on a June day! For more information about this course, visit their web site: http://www.kearneycountryclub.com/
